American Express Transfer Partners

American Express Membership Rewards is a loyalty program that allows cardholders to earn points for their everyday purchases. These points can be redeemed for a variety of rewards, including travel, merchandise, and gift cards. One of the best ways to use your Membership Rewards points is by transferring them to partner airlines and hotels. In this article, we'll guide you through the process of transferring your Membership Rewards points to partner airlines and hotels.

These points may be transferred to the following loyalty programs. All transfers are one-to-one transfers unless otherwise noted, and typically transfers must be done in 1000 point increments.

How to Transfer AmEx Points

Step 1: Check your Membership Rewards account

First you need to make sure that you have enough points in your account. Log in to your Membership Rewards account and check your balance. You can also check the transfer ratio for each partner airline and hotel, most are a 1000 to 1000 point ratio or 1:1 but we have them all listed above.

Step 2: Choose a partner airline or hotel

American Express Membership Rewards program has several airline and hotel partners, all listed above. Make sure to do some research on the partner's transfer ratio and redemption options to ensure that you're getting the best value for your points.

Step 3: Link your accounts

To transfer your Membership Rewards points to a partner airline or hotel, you need to link your accounts. Log in to your Membership Rewards account and select the partner airline or hotel that you want to transfer your points to. If you’re transferring points to an airline or hotel you don’t have an account with then signup for their loyalty program to generate an account number. Follow the prompts to link your accounts.

Step 4: Transfer your points

Once you've linked your accounts, you're ready to transfer your points. Log in to your Membership Rewards account and select the partner airline or hotel that you want to transfer your points to. Enter the number of points you want to transfer and follow the prompts to complete the transfer. Keep in mind that transfer times vary depending on the partner, so be sure to check the transfer times for your chosen partner. Also, once you transfer points you can’t get them back to your AmEx account so make sure you have confirmed availability for the awards you want to book.

Step 5: Book your flight or hotel stay

After your points have been transferred, you can book your flight or hotel stay directly with the partner. Make sure to take note of any blackout dates, restrictions, or fees that may apply. You may also need to pay additional taxes or fees when redeeming your points, especially with airlines from the UK.

In conclusion, transferring American Express Membership Rewards points to partner airlines and hotels is a great way to get more value out of your points.

Happy travels! ✌️
